How long to soft-boil eggs

Soft-boiling eggs gives a runny yolk and tender whites, perfect for dipping toast.

Instructions

  1. Prepare water

    Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water by about an inch.

  2. Boil

    Bring water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.

  3. Simmer

    Lower heat slightly and cook for around 6 minutes for runny yolks.
